COVID Community Updates

In light of the updated changes for the Spring Semester, Marquand Chapel will be conducting services under the following conditions, beginning January 25, 2022: 

  • Chapel services will be streamed from the chapel and broadcasted to the YDS Community via web/Zoom platform. 
  • Only liturgical leaders will be permitted in the chapel with no more than 10 persons.
  • All participants must remained masked and physically distant throughout services, including and all aerosolizing activities (reading, preaching, praying, singing, etc.).
  • Faculty-led Chapel choirs (Marquand Chapel Choir and MaGIC) are granted permission to rehearse 1x a week and performed 1x a week in Chapel services.
    • Choir participants MUST received two negative COVID tests in accordance with the return to campus policy.
    • All singers must be fully vaccinated and boosted (as applicable) in accordance with current university COVID Policy.
    • All singers must also partake in twice-weekly COVID testing through the Yale screening program.
  • On days when the choir is performing, all other non-singing partcipants must participate in services virtually.

A special thanks to Kathy Antos, Erin Ethier, and John Stachniewicz for their adamant support and advocacy in developing a safe and sufficient strategy to continue chapel services for the YDS community.

Please note that the COVID Response Team will continue to closely monitor the public health situation and that these protocols are subject to change.
