During this service, we’ll read the entirety of the book of Jonah (1284 words in the NRSV). We’ll together retell the story of Jonah’s fleeing from God’s call; we’ll remember Jonah being caught in a storm at sea, thrown overboard and swallowed up by a large fish; and we’ll recall how God’s word in Jonah saved the people of Nineveh. The narrative will be punctuated with songs throughout the service.
